The Councillors of Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo state have frowned at the inability of Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to work in tandem with the Rule of Law.
Briefing newsmen at the Council Headquarters, Umuelemia on Wednesday, the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Uchechukwu Echeredo said it is an insult onNigeria’s democracy for the refusal of Gov. Okorcha to obey the Judgement of the Court of Appeal, on the embattled LGA’s chairmen matter.
Hon. Echeredo wondered why a person, who claims to be a lawyer, behaves like one who did not study law, adding that if truly his Excellency is a lawyer, he ought to be de – robbed.
The Chief Whip however, criticized some policies of the governor, adding that Imo people are now seeing the opposite of what Gov. Okorocha promised to them during his campaigns.
When asked if the governor has performed in the last one year, he blasted Gov. Okorocha for what he described as inconsistency in his administration, adding that all his policies since inception of office are anti – people.
In his own contribution, Hon. Micheal Ukadike who is representing Osu – Owerre Ward in the legislative chamber of Isiala Mbano LGA accused the governor for instigating lawlessness in the State and advised him to turn a new leaf, before it become late.
He however, imagined why the staff of the Local Government would be directed to stay at home for three days, adding that the giver of such directive had an evil intention.
It would be re – called the Local Government Chairmen and the 305 councillors were un – constitutionally sacked by Gov. Rochas Okorocha during his maiden address to Imo people, which many described as a time – bomb.
