The Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Imo State Chapter, Bar C O C Akaolisa has described as laughable, the call by the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to arrest his predecessor, Dr Ikedi Ohakim over an alleged N64B Naira scam.
In a press release made available to Trumpeta, Akaolisa disclosed that Okorocha has no moral fibre to talk on corruption as he has turned his office and Imo State in general to a beehive of monumental frauds.
The Legal Adviser who said Okorocha is “occupying the Executive Seat of the Governor of Imo State through fraudulent electoral contrivance” maintained that he is operating an administrative style which epitomizes an establishment of corruption, and therefore lacks the moral justification to call on EFCC to arrest a past Governor whose regime was transparent in all dealings.
“It is laughable that Governor Okorocha continues to call on the EFCC to arrest Chief Ohakim on his frivolous and infantile allegations of N64 Billion Naira” Akaolisa disclosed.
He maintained that the Ohakim administration and that of Okorocha cannot be compared in due process and administration ethics, pointing out that between Ohakim and Okorocha, Imo people know the better person because Imo people” know that Ikiri is better than a thief”.
On the Jude Agbaso clearance by the EFCC which Okorocha faulted, Akaolisa asked the Governor to render an apology to the family of Agbaso for wrongly desecrating the name of the family through a phantom accusation which led to the impeachment of his Deputy, Jude Agbaso.
“It is regrettable that Imo State will continue to witness the desecration of the High Office of the Governor of the State by Okorocha. The Agbaso issue will remain the albatross of this Okorocha administration and all those who aided and abetted this wicked contrivance against Agbaso will surely have their own day of judgment” Akaolisa deposed.
He said that the Hon Simeon Iwunze Committee set up by the Imo House of Assembly which “indicted” Jude Agbaso should apologize to the former Deputy Governor or resign their positions from the House.
