The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has chided the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter, by asking the members to shut up their mouths and cover their faces in shame.
He made this declaration while speaking to Newsmen in Owerri. The Governor maintained that the party lacks moral justification to rate his administration because the party is a total failure.
Okorocha maintained that PDP cannot defeat the All Progressive Congress, APC, in any election both in the State and at the National level, pointing out that 2015 is a test case for both parties to know between two tortoises, which is the male.
“PDP should cover itself in shame in Imo State. The party lacks moral justification to say anything because it has failed the people” Okorocha maintained.
He hinted that as a foundation member of APC, it is fallacious for any body to contemplate that he would dump the party for any other, adding that he remains a strong member of the party.
Okorocha who said APC is the platform for Ndigbo to pursue their political emancipation in Nigeria in 2015 said that APC has come to liberate Nigerians in 2015, poised to win the Presidential election in 2015 and turn around the fortunes of Nigerian citizens for the better.
The Governor assured that by next year more sitting Governors will join the party, praising the courage of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of River State and others for swelling the ranks of the Progressive Governors.
He said Imo State will remain in the hands of APC because PDP has no focus and has nothing to tell Imo people to warrant them vote the party in the 2015 general election.
On the purported clearance of his impeached Deputy, Sir Jude Agbaso, by the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N458 million bribe as mischievous and self-serving. He accused the EFCC of doing nothing over the state government’s request to investigate the missing N67 billion allegedly misappropriated by the administration of former governor Ikedi Ohakim.
Okorocha accused the EFCC of compromising in its duties by its refusal to investigate N67 billion allegedly misappropriated by the administration of former governor Ohakim
“We reported to the EFCC about the missing N67 billion, which was misappropriated by the administration of Ikedi Ohakim, but as I speak to you, neither the EFCC nor the ICPC has done anything about the matter. It seems that those who have connections with the Presidency cannot be probed by the EFCC or the ICPC and that is why they have kept mute. Unfortunately, the same anti-graft agencies that has refused to probe the looting of the state treasury by the government of Ohakim has been harassing the officials of my government on continuous basis; so we decided to take our case to the court of public opinion, as our only option, since we do not have control over them.”
“Since it is obvious that the EFCC is now a tool of political witch-hunt against perceived opposition to the presidency, we have already concluded plans to establish our own anti-graft agency, which will be known as the Imo Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to help us tackle the problem of official fraud in the state.”
Meanwhile, efforts to get the reactions of the members of the state House of Assembly on Agbaso’s clearance by the EFCC were unsuccessful, as most of the members declined to comment on the matter.
