The ongoing YSFON organised Cowbell Mock – Champions League has entered into the second round games as the teams have began to scramble for vital points to enable them make the knock – out stage of the competition that is at the 5th edition this year.
In one of the games played last Tuesday at the Old Township Stadium along Tetlow road – Owerri, the team representing Arsenal recorded a sweet victory over their Manchester United counterparts in a very thrilling match that was witnessed by a Crowd.
The Owerri based Gunners got their noses in front in the 38th minute of the first half through their top striker simply known as Orah Nnaemeka Ekeh.
Manchester United however, rallied round for an equalizer throughout the remaining parts of the game, but the Arsenal men stood firm in defence of their solitary goal to secure 3 points which led put them in a good position for the knock – out stage.
Speaking to ‘Imo Trumpeta’ immediately after the game, Coach Power of Man United, complained about the inability of some of his boys to make the match due to some personal engagements, which meant they had to execute the match with only 11 players.
He however did promise to ensure that they make up in their next match against Inter Milan as the only hope of making the knock – out stage.
On the other hand Mr Emmanuel the Chief Coach of Arsenal expressed satisfaction with the performance of his lads and stated that the boys will improve in their next closest rival, as the Gunners fans full in Owerri has mandated them to win the trophy.
