According to the Chairman of the Wealthy Brethren of Nigerian, Ihedioha, "The group came up with its position after careful study of the political environment and scrutiny of the profile and agenda of candidates from all contending parties."
He said Nwulu represents Imo youths in the governorship race assuring him of their support during Saturday’s governorship election.
Ihedioha said, at the same time, the group believes that the lawmaker experience as a legislature and his level-headedness are invaluable prerequisites for handling the intrigues of governing a state like Imo state.
He also pointed out that his members have been charged to draw from various spheres of influence across the socio-economic spectrum of the state to ensure they deliver Hon Nwulu governorship ambition.
According to him, “we are endorsing him because this is the man that will give us what we have been craving for in Lagos .This is the best that can happen to the youths in Imo state. So come out and vote for him. Hold me responsible for this because I know him and I have seen what he can do,” said.
In his brief remarks during the visit, Hon Tony Nwulu said Youths are his direct constituency .He stated that his Not Too Young To Run Act which he initiated on the floor of the House of Representatives was a clear demonstration of his commitment to ensure Nigerian youths are no longer left out in the task of governance of the State.

Ihedioha Tipped To Win Imo Guber . Odds Favour Ex- Lawmaker
Developments filtering in from the twenty seven Local Government Areas of Imo State indicate that the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is poised to sweep the votes come Saturday, March 9, 2019.
According to political pundits and some prominent personalities in Imo State, 2019 is the time marked out by God for Ihedioha, who also contested for the seat in 2015, but only lost to the out-going Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha by the whiskers after a contentious re-run election.
However, as Imo electorate troop out on Saturday to elect a new Governor, a majority of Imo people are said to have settled for Ihedioha, who is favoured now by every factor.
Among these factors, they said, is the zoning formula, which they maintain has attracted goodwill for Ihedioha across the LGAs.
It was learnt that apart from the fact that Ihedioha is the most prominent and popular among the other candidates, his party PDP and Owerri zone where he comes from endeared him to the heart of Imo populace, who see the Eight years of APC in the State as a costly experiment which Imo people would not want to encounter again.
Many Imolites see Ihedioha as a representation of Owerri zone in the race, since a majority of Imo people agree that it is the turn of Owerri to produce Imo Governor in 2019, after Okigwe had ruled the State for Eight years under Sam Mbakwe and Ikedi Ohakim, and Orlu zone Sixteen years, by Chief Achike Udenwa and Rochas Okorocha.
Many said that it was as a result of this that Imo Council of Elders cutting across Imo State endorsed the PDP candidate, for equity, justice and peace of Imo State.
Already, the entire Catholic and Anglican denominations have been preaching Ihedioha, following his tenacity and easy attitude which cuts across board.
Sources said that when Ihedioha visited Alaba Market Owerri recently, it took hours before the jubilant traders could “release” him to proceed on his campaign trail.
The Amalgamation of Imo Trade Unions led by Chief Emeka Diwe has endorsed the PDP candidate, including Olu Owerre, IMOZURUKWUO, Orlu Zurumee, National Association of Nigeria Students NANS, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, NULGE, Imo pensioners, and Civil Servants.
However, speaking to Journalist in Owerri, a Senatorial Aspirant for Owerri under APC, Prince Maxwell Igwe said that it is clear that the odds favour Ihedioha, but warned that Imo electorate must be alert to forestall rigging.
“Imo people are backing Ihedioha. But we must guard against rigging” Igwe said.
A former Deputy of Imo State, Dr Douglas Acholonu said that even though he is a bonafide son of Orlu, but as a person who believes in equity, it is justifiable for Imo people to give power to Owerri zone through Emeka Ihedioha whom he described as a calm and organized young man.
Chief Charles Ugwu, (ROKANA) a former governorship candidate in Imo State said he is from Okigwe zone but tips Ihedioha to be next Imo Governor, because he has all the qualities to make a good State Chief Executive.
In his own reaction, a retired colonel, Chief Lambert Iheanacho from Ngor Okpala appealed to Imo people to vote Ihedioha as Governor to lay to rest the question of marginalization of Owerri people.
He asked Imo people to troop on Saturday and cast their vote for Ihedioha and PDP.
Major. General CRU Ihekire from Ikeduru LGA urged Imo electorate to give their vote to Ihedioha, who will restor back the glory of the State.
A former Speaker of Imo House of Assembly, Rt Hon Maxwell Duru, and Ex Majority Leader, Rt Hon Stanford Onyirimba, all from Okigwe zone were of the same view that Ihedioha is better than all other Governorship candidates for the 2019 Imo Governorship election.
Orlu , Owerri, Okigwe Elders Council Endorse Anumudu ZLP .As Anumudu Debunk Rumour of Step Down
It was a joyful and wonderful occasion Saturday as all the 266 autonomous communities in Orlu received and endorsed Barr Humphrey Anumudu as Owerri/Orlu Zone consensus candidate for the Imo Governorship contest. Barr Anumudu was led in and introduced to the cheering crowd by the chairman of Orlu Elders Council Prof Francis Dike & Vice Chairman of Owerri Elder's Council Chief Sam Obaji and representatives of Okigwe Elders. The event was at Ihioma Civic center. Introducing Barr Anumudu to the mamoth crowd of over 2000 people, Prof Dike spoke glowing of the leadership qualities of Barr Anumudu and the tremendous sacrifice Anumudu has made in 1999 & 2003 for Orlu people when he ceded the Governorship position to an Orlu son even after winning the primaries. The Vice Chairman of Owerri Elder's Council Chief Sam Obaji thanked the chairmen of the autonomous communities for organizing such reception. He explained that Orlu Elders and Owerri Elder's are fully behind Barr Anumudu. Barrister Anumudu who spoke to a teeming supporters in his country home Obilubi Mbieri yesterday thanked Imo indigenes for the overwhelming support he has been receiving from them as he transverse the local governments and wards during his campaigns.
He uses the occasion to disabuse their minds on the allegation that he has stepped down his ambition pointing out that, “How can a front line contender of my person step down at this point? step down for who he querried.
Barrister Anumudu appealed to Imo electorates to see reason in voting for him as he has come to write the wrongs in the state right. Adding that his priority in governance will be Imo people, their well being, life, investments and the environment.
PDP Recaptures Orsu, Orlu, Oru East Reps As Supplementary Election Holds in Okigwe zone
The seat garnered by the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Imo State after the Presidential/National Assembly elections have increased with the capture of Oru East, Orlu and Orsu Federal Constituency.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Monday released the signal that PDP’s Jerry Alagbaoso wins, dispelling earlier reports that it was inconclusive.
INEC had earlier according to reports declared the result of the federal constituency inconclusive owing to violence, snatching of electoral materials and mutilation of figures.
But yesterday, the electoral body reversed itself to announce the PDP candidate winner even as other candidates in the race have declared it a rape on democracy.
The announcement to declare Alagbaoso winner was made public after the candidates were invited for briefing on the way forward about the election. The REC after quoting some sections of the electoral act cancelled the areas for the re-run and declared Jerry Alagbaoso winner of the election.
Meanwhile, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Supplementary elections will take place in Imo North Senatorial district, Okigwe South and Okigwe North federal constituencies.
The commission had declared elections inconclusive in the affected areas after violence, snatching of electoral materials and mutilation of figures marred the exercise.
This was even as political thugs set ablaze INEC’s office in Imo North senatorial district, heightening tension in the area.
The INEC spokesperson in the state, Emmanuella Opara , said that the commission was ready to complete elections in the affected areas .
She said that the supplementary elections would hold alongside governorship and State Assembly elections which hold this weekend.
Okorocha in Fresh Trouble As Plot To Stop EFCC, Police Search House Fails Courts Says IGP, Anti Graft Body Have Right
Efforts by the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to stop the police and Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC from searching his house have been thrown overboard as the court rules otherwise.
Apparently kicking against invasion of his house by men of the Nigeria police and EFCC for search purposes, Governor Okorocha went to court to stop them.
But the outcome of the court is not in his favour which has given the police and EFCC authorities to search his residence.
The Federal High Court sitting in Jos has thrown out a N1.25 billion damages suit filed by Gov. Rochas Okorocha, against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the EFCC.
Okorocha filed the suit against the IGP and EFCC in November 2018 for allegedly invading and ransacking his house in Jos.
Delivering judgment, Justice Musa Kurya, dismissed Okoracha’s application for lacking in merit.
“Even though there was no record of how the search warrant was obtained but a search warrant dated May 3, 2017 from a Magistrate has been attached as exhibit before this court.
“Whether due process was followed or not at obtaining the search warrant, there is no proof otherwise to its genuineness and the breach of sections 34 – 37 of the UN human rights and African Charter.
“Consequently, judgment is hereby entered in favour of the respondents. The applicant’s claims are hereby refused.
“I hereby declare that the application of the applicant lacked merit and is hereby dismissed and cost is not awarded to either parties in this suit, ’’ the Judge declared. reports has it that Okorocha alleged that the IGP and the anti-graft agency breached his fundamental human rights following the May 3, 2017 invasion
Also joined in the suit are the Commissioner of Police Plateau, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
The Governor prayed the court to declare the action of the police and EFCC as “illegal, null and void’’ and award his client the sum of N1.25 billion as general damages because there was no valid court warrant for such an exercise.
But the IGP and the EFCC, through their counsel, Edwin Inegbenoise and Muktar Ali-Ahmed, pleaded with the court to dismiss the governors application for lack of merit since a court warrant was obtained for the search on his residence in accordance with the law.
Orlu Zone Senate Seat: Okorocha Stole My Mandate, Says PDP Candidate Jones Onyeriri
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo -West Senatorial District, Jones Onyereri , has claimed that he won the election which the state Governor , Rochas Okorocha, was declared as the winner .
Onyereri , who was reacting to a statement credited to the governor , where Okorocha described him as being “too small to contest against him in an election , ” said the governor ’s statement was “watery. ”
Onyereri , who is a serving member of the House of Representatives , said , “The governor ’s statement was too watery and it is a sheer distraction from the burning issue of his massive rigging during last Saturday’s poll in Imo -West Senatorial District .”
Online news report obtained by Trumpeta quoted Onyeriri to have said “I challenge the governor for a free -and- fair election in Imo- West where independent election monitoring observers will keep the records.”
Onyereri said it was wrong for the governor to claim he had nothing to show for his eight -year stay at the National Assembly.
“My wealth of experience, leadership sagacity and social values have become the template for aspiring federal lawmakers in Nigeria. With over ten bills and 12 sponsored motions to my credit, how would any sane and rational informed person adjudge sterling performance in legislative business,” he asked, adding that he would reclaim “his stolen mandate” from the governor through the tribunal.
But the governor, who reacted through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said the PDP senatorial candidate was not his match in politics.
