Enyimba Eye’s Former Heartland Gaffer, De Kruif
Six time Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) winners, Enyimba, are considering their coaching options with Dutchman, Lodewijk de Kruif, heading their wish list.
Top Management members of the two time CAF champions League winners believe the Dutchman fits the bill for the head job as their 2012/13bseason head coach, Salisu Yusuf is close to joining either FC Taraba or El Kanemi Warriors and his assistant, Paul Aigbogun has switched to Warri Wolves.
“Nothing has been concluded but we are considering De Kruif because he has shown great understanding of the Nigerian and African game as Coach of one of our rival clubs (Heartland fc of Owerri) where he was their TA winning the Federation Cup after 18 years and taking them to the Continental scene,” an official of Enyimba informed.
The People’s Elephant are said to be piling pressure on either Aigbogun or Yusuf to stay as head coach as they prepare for the 2014 Caf Champions League.
At present, Imama Amapakabo is currently the most high-placed in the coaching ranks at Enyimba and has been in chargeof the first-team in the absence of Aigbogun and Yusuf.
Enyimba will however, have a strong job in convincing de Kruif to dump his current job as the Manager of Bangladeshi national team.
