Orsu Local Government Area went agog over the weekend when the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party mobilization Committee and his entourage stormed the Orsu primary school playground in a bid to press hold the desire of PDP in returning to the Douglas House come 2015.
Addressing the people of Orsu LGA, the mobilization Committee Chairman, High Chief Jerry Chukwueke thanked the people of Orsu for turning out en mass and gave assurance that PDP will return to the Douglas House in the next election. He stated the party PDP under the Chairmanship of Bamangar Tukur is the only one and true PDP which he said still stands united.
High Chief Jerry Chukwueke emphasized on the strategies of true democracy which he said is practically illustrated by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, he pointed at the achievements of the President within his few years in office which include the ongoing construction of the second Niger bridge, re-energizing the railway and power sectors and despite the challenges faced, he urged Nigerians to support his transformation agenda.
He further harped on what he described as ill-governance of the present administration of Imo state led by Rochas Okorocha, stressing that it has resulted to Imo State University being placed second to the last as it ranks 111 out of 112 tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
He alleged that the governor of Imo state has over leveraged the banks of N64billion plus over N276billion which he said was collected on-behalf of Imo state and wondered why the Governor pays deaf ears to his fiducial responsibilities owed to Imolites even after the PDP had asked for the financial statements of Imo state since he became governor.
He described governor Okorocha as a partyless governor who is neither in APGA or APC, adding that the governor is running a one man show with no management team and no Commissioners but a government called the Roche government and Rochas administration.
Earlier, the Chairman of the event, Barrister C.O.C Akaolisa said that the present governor of Imo state have been disqualified in various aspect which has constituted to his ill-governance.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Orsu LGA Mr. Osigwe thanked the members of PDP who have continued to encourage the party noting that Orsu LGA is united.
The PDP mobilization Committee Secretary Arch. Leo Okwudili Munonye, stated that the PDP still remains the National circular party, as he charged all PDP decamped members to come back as the party awaits their re-union, he noted that the PDP is carrying out a procedure of grass-root remobilization to carry all its members along.
In their separate remarks, Chief Leo Okeahelam and Lady Chidinma Oparaocha stressed on the capability of the party and condemned Governor Rochas Okorocha abortion bill saying that the good people of Orsu and Nigeria should disease from evil deed and believe in PDP to deliver the dividend of democracy.
