Okro soup is a very slippery soup. Ogbonno soup does the same thing. Imo politicians not many of them are in the league of Okro and Ogbnno slippery association. Gluttony is another bad virtue in politics. Those that are shouting crucify PDP now, were in the driving seat of the party yester years. They were there when Obasanjo came calling at Dan Anyiam Stadium after the PDP primary elections that produced senator ARARAUME as the party’s flag bearer then. What did the then PDP Hechmen do? The rest was history. That regime has faded away. A new regime came and those who stopped eating from Chief Dr. Achike Udenwa’s magnanimity started to see our (Onwa) in bad light; then came Dr. Ikedi Ohakim. To these slippery politicians, Chief Ikedi was the best. Now that the Apostle of the Green and Clean or the leader of the defunct New face of Imo is no more on seat, the ex Governor is no more on their good book. Now a new regime is on and the hand clappings are on. Once there is a change, their attitude and perception towards the number one citizen changes. If you are in APC now, and would want PDP to die or vamoose, remember you were there before. What is that the APC will offer Imo people that men with goodwill in PDP cannot deliver? What is that in PDP that men of goodwill in APGA, UPP or any CARTON party? cannot deliver. The Majority shouting crucify PDP today took off from that party. Since 1999, we have studied Imo politicians. We know them one by one and cannot be deceived no matter the party one belongs. Wind vane is used to measure rainfall.
Thermometer is used to measure temperature, barometer is used to measure pressure.
Therefore CHARACTER, Antecedents are the yards bricks with which Imolites are measuring and weighing Imo politicians. Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Asiwaju of Lagos stayed put in the then ACTION CONGRESS. What is happening today? Almost all the parties; majority of like minds have been wooed to his side. The BROOM have swallowed CPC and ANPP. The excellent performance of the then ACN in the western and south south of Edo was the TINUBU’S magic. It is not party but character that matters. Politics is about money and it must be shared to Imolites before they die. Any party that does not let it flow down should quit. If 255 Million Naira or Dollars were used to go for two bullet proof Limousine in a country where over 80,000,000 of its youth are unemployed or jobless, is it not madness? Instead of using that amount to at least ensure that good airplanes are purchased for air safety, rickety planes are used to kill Nigerians in the air. My take is that politics being a dynamic thing must be played with dynamic reality and stead fastness, decency and good conscience. The TRIPOD vision of Chief Achike Udenwa’s regime was okay but today where is it? New Face of the Green and Clean of Chief Ikedi Ohakim was good, but today where is it? Those who were part and parcel of the above two Acronyms of Government programmes may be sited in APC what will you hear? You may hear them criticize their Oga’s signature programme because they have landed on their new moon surface. Imo politics and politicians will have a direction and meaning if in the long run no matter the party, the overall emphasis will be to see consistency in policy formulation, consistency in ones character, consistency in being good Imo politician that will outlive ones public and global image like the Good Image and good Name left behind by Imo’s ever green and unforgettable Governor Sam Mbakwe Ph.D.
