The Blind In Imo Host South East Members

The Nigeria Association of the Blind (NAB) Imo State Chapter will on the 8th and 9th of November, 2013, host the entire South East union of the blind, comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states scheduled to hold at the new Explicit Lodge Hotel.
The conference will centre on health related matters such as HIV/AIDS, blood sugar and malaria.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Barr Sunny Ezurike Chairman Organizing committee disclosed that other issues pertaining to the well being of their members will also be discussed. He further expressed their gratitude to the Governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his magnanimous approval of the sum of 1 million naira geared towards helping NAB put together a beautiful conference and host their members from other states.
Barr Ezurike also addressed matters concerning the election held by the association on the 3rd August 2013 at Emmanuel College Owerri, Imo State in which two representatives from the National body were present to monitor and observe the election. He added that the election was free and fair, stressing that it was covered by the media as well as men of Nigeria police force, adding that at the end winners emerged and were duly sworn in and handed certificate of return by the electoral committee.
He therefore advised the public to henceforth disregard any statement or letter that may be initiated by an aggrieved few. He stressed that there is an established manner of resolving election matters in the association. He added that already petitions have been sent to the national executives pending resolution to recognize the current Imo State NAB exco that emerged from the convention.
