Orlu Zone Scores Uzodimma High, Adopts Him For 2015 With a Mandate for Additional South-East State

The people of Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone) at the weekend at a stakeholder/town hall meeting attended by stakeholders across all political parties in the zone assessed the performance/representation of the senator representing the zone in the upper chamber, senator Hope Uzodimma and scored him high. The entire zone unanimously went ahead to adopt him, for a second tenure come 2015 with a mandate for him to fight for an additional state in the South East through different motions.
Addressing political stakeholders Senator Uzodinma highlighted some of the dividends of democracy he has attracted to the zone which include; rural and urban roads, electrification, provision of drinking (bore wholes) water, job opportunities to the teeming youths of the zone and above all connecting Orlu zone to the national grid for recognition in the distribution and sharing of the dividends of democracy.
In a bid to make the zone more formidable for political and economic challenges ahead, Senator Uzodinma said in agreement with the stakeholders of the zone an Interim Management Committee (IMC) for the zone was constituted. He said that the job of the committee is to fashion out modalities and strategies for the political and economic emancipation of Orlu zone in order to position her in the fore front of events in Imo State and Nigeria in general. Some of the members of the Orlu zonal IMC include, Levi Uzoukwu (SAN), Barr Ngozi Anyachie, Leo Okereke, Chuma Nnaji, Golden Nwosu, COC Akaolisa, among others.
Eze Okeke who spoke on behalf of Orlu zonal Monarchs, poured encomiums on the serving senator for his people oriented representations as he cautioned politicians on pull him down syndrome, stating that it does not encourage human and infrastructural development. The monarch stated that there is no vacancy for Orlu senatorial seat in 2015.
Chief Reuben Okoro of Orluzurumere, passed a vote of confidence on the senator while urging other socio-cultural associations in the zone to queue behind Orluzurumee as the apex organization for the interest of Orlu people. Chief Okoro maintained that Sen. Uzodimma’s exploits at the red chambers of the senate has continued to put the Senatorial District on the map of reckoning in Nigeria politics. He went further to call for the unity of purpose by all stakeholders for peace and progress in Orlu.
Other people that spoke include representatives from the twelve (12) Local Governments.
Some of the notable dignitaries at the event include, Eze Duruihuoma (SAN), Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, Eze Okeke, Dr Douglas Achulonu, Levi Uzoukwu (SAN), Stanfo Nwankwo, Reuben Okoro, Royal fathers Hon Dibiagwu, Chibuzor Obi, Okey Okwara among other stakeholders.
