The efforts of the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the Mayor of Owerri Zone, Chief Gibson Njemanze to restore sanity and decency in Owerri metropolis and environ has received accolades and commendation from the National Union of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) in Imo State.
Making this disclosure in Owerri, shortly after paying a courtesy call on the Mayor of Owerri zone in his palatial office at Owerri city school, Chairman of the Union, Chief Tony Benson, said NARTO are willing to be partners with the Owerri Mayorial office to ensure that indecency is eliminated in Owerri zone.
He regretted that Owerri has lost its glory recently, but expressed optimism that the efforts of Mayor will transform the city soonest.
He praised the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his rescue mission agenda, commending the Governor for deeming it worthy to appoint an astute politician, an achiever and man of the people as the Mayor of Owerri Zone.
He expressed the willingness of NARTO to compliment the efforts of the Mayor to restore the lost glory of Owerri city, stating that they are willing to reciprocate the efforts of the Mayor.
Also speaking, other leaders of the Union such as Mr. Comrade Gabriel Osuji (Secretary) and Mr. Dominic Onyemachi spoke on the same vein, applauding the efforts of the Mayor towards sanitizing Owerri metropolis.
They also expressed hope that Governor Rochas Okorocha will emerge victorious in the ongoing Court case instituted against him by the PDP, adding that since Governor Okorocha’s electoral victory was ordained by God in 2011, he will come out victorious when the Supreme Court pronounce judgment on the matter on January 24, 2014.
