Commercial Motorcycle operators popularly called Okada or ina-aga in Imo State, plying the Orogwe/Ndegwu route in Owerri West local government area of the state have lamented of the deplorable state of the road.
Speaking to Trumpeta, some of the motorcycle operators in the area lamented that the bad state of the road has brought nothing but bad business for them as according to them. People now prefer trecking instead of patronizing them for fear of being thrown into stagnant water in pot holes.
One of the operators, who simply identified himself as Chukwuemeka noted that the road rehabilitation and reconstruction which started last year, have been abandoned by the contractor, pointing out that the road was in a manageable condition before the rehabilitation and reconstruction exercise began.
Another motorcycle operator, who could not hide his anger fumed “which kind government be this one? Then go road work, them no go finish am”
Also speaking, Mr Kingsley Uche who also ply the road wondered whether it is the fault of government or that of the contractor. He appealed to the government to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Orogwe/Ndegwu by ensuring that contractors go back to work, especially now that the rains is coming to an end to save them from danger.
