Commissioners nominees cleared in Imo State by the Imo State House of Assembly, yesterday, swiftly obeyed the instruction of State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha by reportedly showing up at the Imo State Council of Ndi Eze Secretariat, yesterday for screening and confirmation.
Okorocha had announced to the chagrin and consternation of Imolites recently, that his newly appointed commissioners will be screened by the Imo House of Assembly and the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers respectively.
The Commissioner Nominees were screened and cleared last week by the House.
Yesterday, Trumpeta monitored the newly-appointed persons who actually showed up at the Secretariat of Council of Ndi Eze in line with the Governor’s instruction.
It was unclear if the Commissioners were screened as Journalists were not allowed in. But a source said what transpired was a mere parley and words of wisdom which the traditional rulers offered the newly appointed Commissioners as they go to their various ministries to resume duties.
When contacted, Media Aide to Chairman of Council of Ndi Eze, Mr Gift Nwokoro confirmed that no screening took place as what occurred were words of caution, as there were no question and answer session which characterize every screening exercise.
