Finally, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Isu LGA Chapter has allegedly expelled the member of the Imo House of Assembly Hon Ikenna Emeh.
In a letter written by the Disciplinary Committee set up by PDP Isu LGA Working Committee to look into the allegations of Anti-party activities leveled against Hon Emeh, the committee recommended that the Lawmaker representing Isu Constituency be sacked from the party.
It would be recalled that Hon Ikenna Emeh had earlier been suspended from the party at the Ward level, following allegations that he was romancing with the opposition political party.
However, the party inaugurated a Disciplinary Committee to look into the allegations leveled against Emeh and others.
“In respect of section 57(4) of the Party’s Constitution, the people in question were written to and only Lolo Patricia appeared before it and she was to defend herself”, the letter read.
The Committee said after its findings, it discovered that Hon Emeh was allegedly involved in anti-party activities, which include secretly registering some members of the PDP into APC in his House.
“Hon Ikenna Emeh had been promoting factions and belongs to a faction under the guise of PDP and the name of the group is called Isu Project, contrary to section (58) J of the party’s constitution”, the letter alleged.
The Disciplinary Committee among other allegations said that Hon Emeh absents himself from party meetings, travels overseas with the Governor, has no constituency office, has not done any constituency briefing till date, claimed to be a “Consultant” for the Government of Governor Rochas Okorocha and importantly refused to appear before the Party’s Disciplinary Committee, which was an insult to the Party.
However, when Trumpeta contacted Hon Emeh on phone, the Lawmaker said he had no time to join issues with people who are ignorant of PDP Constitution and lacks power to sack an elected Lawmaker.
Hon Emeh maintained that the Local Chapter of PDP has no such capacity to expel him, and therefore remains a member of PDP as their allegations lack merit.
Also, when contacted the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu disclosed that in personal capacity he was aware of what he described as Isu PDP Local Government issue between the Honourable Member adding that when the matter is brought to the state level he can then comment.
