The People Democratic Party, PDP, Mbaitoli LGA Chapter, Imo State has stated that three of its members, namely Nze Lawrence Eronini, Lolo Edith Akuruka and Nnamdi Akuruka have been suspended.
According to a letter signed by the LGA Chairman Chief Goody Nnadozie and his secretary Chief Charles Ogazechi respectively, the afore mentioned people were allegedly suspended for act inimical to the progress of the PDP in Mbaitoli LGA.
The letter said that the three suspended members incurred the wrath of the party’s constitution for disrupting gathering at the party on October 5, 2013, which was held in the premises of Engr Roy Eronini
According to the letter, on October 5, 2013, Engr Roy Eronini invited the Mbaitoli LGA Exco to his house for an interactive session.
However, as the meeting was about to start, Mr Nnamdi Akuruka allegedly demanded that the youth leader, Mr Kelechi Ngumezi must not participate, as Akuruka accused him of always insulting Nze Law Eronini at will, and therefore should not participate in a meeting in Eronini’s compound.
It was alleged that it was at this point that Nnamdi’s mother, Lolo Akuruka joined the son, and temper rose high.
At this juncture, the letter read, somebody phoned Nze Law Eronini who allegedly stormed the venue of the meeting with some police men at whose sight many at the meeting took to their heels for fear of sustaining injury.
The letter said that on 9th October, the Mbaitoli PDP Exco regrouped to review the incident of October 5, and decided to mete out proper penalties to persons involved in the disruption of the meeting as it was observed that they contravened chapter x section 58 and 59 of the PDP constitution 2012as amended.
“In a well attended Executive meeting of this party held on 9th day of October 2013, it was resolved that you proceed on suspension forth with.
A disciplinary committee has been set up to look into your case” the letter concluded.
Meanwhile, when Trumpeta called Nze Eronini on phone, he could not pick. But a source close to the politician said that Nze Eronini is a state Exco member of the party, a well disciplined man and therefore cannot involve himself in acts that can disrupt the party in Mbaitoli LGA and said Nze Eronini remains in a member of the party.
