A member of House of Representatives, representing one of the largest Federal Constituencies in Nigeria, Hon Jones Onyereri, has run into troubled waters as his constituents have expressed disgust with his type of representation, and therefore calling for his recall.
Jones Onyereri represents, Nkwerre/Nwangele/Njaba/Isu Federal Constituency in Imo State.
According to impeccable sources, the plot to recall Jones gained momentum recently, when it was gathered that the Lawmaker may have been representing himself, friends, and relations only, when compared to his achievements with that of his other colleagues in Imo State and what came in as constituency Allowances and projects since 2011 he moved to the Green Chamber.
The Constituents alleged that the Lawmaker, who has lost touch with his people, was given time all this while to see if he can make amends, by rendering services to the masses, but to no avail.
“For over two years now, the people of this Federal Constituency have given Hon Jones time to settle down and deliver the elusive dividends of democracy, but it seems he does not care about us. So, either we recall him now, or wait for him in 2015” Chief Chukwuemeka Irobi told Trumpeta in Amazano, Njaba LGA..
However, Dr Ambrose Nwoke from Nwangele LGA believes that the Constituency is too large for Hon Onyereri, which is why he seems lost in the scheme of things, as far as reaching the masses is concerned.
“I think the constituency is too large for him or something. See what his colleagues from other areas in Imo State are doing. But look at us. It is not easy for you to see Hon Jones now, much less talking with him”. When has he called a constituency meeting like his colleagues? Dr Nwoke told Trumpeta.
Mrs Ada Nwokarie, who said she is a Woman Leader from Owerri Nkwoji in Nkwerre LGA said that the women have regretted working for Hon Onyereri in 2011, pointing out that unless he is not running again, because 2015 will be a pay back time “The man is a disappointment. He spends time and our money in Enugu than his constituency. We shall meet him in 2015” Mrs Nwokarie told Trumpeta.
Meanwhile, a competent source told Trumpeta that the political elites of the constituency have grown tired of Hon Jones Onyereri’s political gimmicks, as he thinks he can fool the people all the times, and therefore have resolved to commence a recall process, which will be the Christmas gift to the Lawmaker this year.
Already, secret meetings have commenced to rally those who will fund the recall project, as it is learnt that Onyereri himself is already pilling war chest for 2015 election.
However, after various calls to the Lawmaker, he could not pick which confirmed on the allegations against him by his constituents that their representative does not pick call any longer.. But a close source to the Lawmaker said Onyereri has done enough for the Constituency, pointing out that only jealousy and envy is pushing those fighting Jones, as they are afraid of his rising political profile both in Imo and the Nation’s capital, Abuja.
