Party Crisis And The Anambra Guber Race
For quite some time now what has dominated the major discussion in the media is crisis and wrangling in virtually all the political parties in the country without any exception.
In these parties, it is either that a group is opposed to the Leadership of the Chairman of the party or others opposed to the presidential ambition of others in 2015.
There is also another group opposed to the ambition of some members of the States and National Assemblies, present and past Governors who they feel has over dominated the polity over the years as if it is their birth right to perpetually re-cycle within the corridors of power.
In all these struggles, an analysis of it all comes to the fact that the borne of contention is who controls the soul of the parties with the sole aim of dictating their bearing ahead of the 2015 general election in the country.
It is instructive to note that why all these are going on now is simply because elections are around the corner otherwise, did we have these barrage of horse trading in the various parties in 2012.
That is why we should caution especially the media not to allow itself to be used as a willing tool in destabilizing the country by these selfish politicians.
However, while these drums of war rage on across the country, we should be mindful of the fact that the November 2013 Anambra State Governorship election is a litmus test to all the political parties.
While the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, All Progressive Congress APC, All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA and others are engrossed in the controversy of who becomes their flagbearers, the Labour Party in its wisdom have settled for Dr. Ifeanyi Uba as its candidate.
Knowing the burden and the need to convince the Anambra electorates on the need to vote for him as the next Governor of the state, Dr Ifeanyi Uba has swung into action with his clear road map on what should be his focal agenda when elected into office.
As we speak today, he will flag off his campaigns today in Onitsha where he will unveil his manifesto to the people of Anambra State.
Considering the fact that the electorates and indeed the masses are more politically enlightened, it is important that people appreciate the fact that the days are fast gone when political parties win elections in Nigeria.
In the new Nigeria and emerging democracy, what wins elections are candidates and this is dependent on the ability of the candidate to convince the electorates on his mission and agenda for the people.
Bearing in mind that a house divided against itself is bound to collapse, these other parties in Anambra State should watch their backyard before the mart is pulled off their feet.
This is so because, any political party which arrogates the authority of a super man to itself should wait for surprises which are abound in the 2015 Anambra Governorship elections.

On Imo General Hospitals
Will I call it a political drama, or power tussle in Imo State retary, as the Permanent Sec. Ministry of Health Imo state intends to rubbish or flaunt the directives and good intentions of the amiable and progressive Governor.
In 2011, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha upgraded the then Owerri General hospital to the status of a prestigious Specialist hospital. Just a few days ago, Dr Ihebereme the Perm Sec of Ministry of Health announced a conflicting story thwarting the orders of the Governor on the said Specialist hospital to be put back to a General hospital status. The question is WHO IS THE OGA, THE PERM SEC. OR OWELLE’.
Is it because that the clergies stood up against the abortion bill?, so, the Perm Sec. wants to stand up against Owelle, what a power tussle.
Why must the Perm Sec rise against the orders of a performing and sitting Governor, or is it another way of rubbishing his good and people friendly agenda?
Or, is it because the Governor is from Orlu zone and the Perm Sec. is from Owerri zone? I want to know, hope is not another means the Perm Sec. whom has now turned to a politician to distract the Governor come 2015 general election.
WE, the concerned citizens needs progress which the Governor is into and has promised to even to upgrade the hospital from Specialist to Teaching hospital, but the political Perm Sec. wants to due to his selfish interest want to deprive us of this FRESH BREEZE.
