Assemblies Of God Pastor Arrested For Kidnapping .As Suspect Blames Hardship For Offence

A 42 year-old man who claims to be a Pastor Ministering with Assemblies of God Church in Umungwa-Obowo LGA of Imo State, Samuel Chinedu Nnaji is telling men of the Nigeria Police, Imo State Command what he knows about the kidnap of the wife of HRH, Eze Basil Nwokeke of Nkwunzeto Autonomous Community in Ihitte Uboma LGA by the State.
The suspect who is cooling his feet in police net is among the suspected gunmen who plotted the kidnap of the monarch’s wife.
Parading the suspects before newsmen in Owerri, the State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina said that within 48hours of the incident, the principal suspects were traced to their hideouts at Obowo while negotiating for ransom where they were encountered and apprehended.
The suspects nabbed in connection to the criminal act are the principal suspect Chibueze Osuagwu, age 21, an apprentice builder after school drop-out, resident at Umuko Mgboma Alike Obowo and Uzodimma GodBless, aged 20, of Umuezegwu, Ihitte Uboma.
According to the Police, one of the suspects died on his way to the hospital as a result of gun shot injury while a red golfer and assault rifle were recovered from them.
The Police Command through its PPRO took Journalists to the places where the abductor was kept by the suspected kidnapers before she was rescued.
The Ugoeze was first kept in an uncompleted building at Obowo and was later taken to a deserted one storey building at Umuezala Nsu, Ehime Mbano, LGA Imo State, hearing that the police was tracing their hideout.
One of the suspected kidnapers, Chibueze Osuagwu confessed he indulged into criminality because he was poor and helpless.
