Guber 2015 No credible candidate, No Support Udenwa Tells Owerri Zone (OZOPOLF)

2015

The Owerri Zone Political Leaders Forum (OZOPOLF) which is championing the course of Owerri Zone Governorship in 2015 over the weekend met with the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa who has thrown his weight of support to the course and aspiration but not without conditions and advice.
Speaking with the Leadership and members of OZOPOLF who visited him over the weekend, Chief Udenwa maintained that he supports the Imo Charter of Equity which favours Owerri zone governor in 2015, for peace justice, equity and fairness.
However, the former governor did not just assure the group of his support without condition. In his words “the need to retrace the charter of equity is inevitable but Imo people can not sacrifice competence and credibility on the alter of charter of equity or zoning. Therefore the ball is in the court of Owerri zone to go and do their internal work well and present a credible and competent candidate with good, managerial and leadership track records or lose the support of the other zones”.
He also advised them on collective unity of purpose instead of factional and selfish struggle. Udenwa also stressed on the need to work with all registered political parties as he promised to ensure a level playing ground for them in All Progressive Congress, APC.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group, Prince Charles Amadi, told the former governor that their visit is to acquaint him, as a political father in the state with the mission and vision of the struggle for Owerri zone governor in 2015 relying on the charter of equity which produced him Udenwa as an Orlu Zone governor and also seek his fatherly blessing to the course.
In his vote of thanks, Prof Jude Njoku thanked Chief Udenwa for his hospitality and warm reception to the group. He also appreciated the former Chief Executive of Imo for all his monumental and landmark achievements during his eight years as the state governor of the state. The erudite scholar also averred that Udenwa’s regime has remained the only sane regime in Imo after Mbakwe.
The event witnessed a very large turnout of Owerri and Orlu political leaders especially those of PDP and APC extraction.
