The leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Imo state chapter had paid a solidarity visit to HRH Eze Cletus I Ilomuanya, Obi of Obinugwu, Orlu LGA, Chairman Imo state and South East Councils of Traditional Rulers recently . The visit is to congratulate him on his Appeal court victory, celebrate his annual iri ji with him, and inform the Eze of the inauguration of Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership Imo state chapter on September 13, 2013.
According to the president of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Imo state chapter, Doctor Emeka Ukegbu who led the team, the visit is aimed to acquaint the Eze that the leadership of the organization will be inaugurated on 13th September, 2013, with the theme: celebrating Nigeria centenary- The Igbo perspective under the Chairmanship of Engr E.U Iwuanyanwu.
Doctor Ukegbu highlights that the new Ohaneze Ndigbo where every local government in Imo state is well represented has been born. He maintained that Ndi Igbo played major role in the actualization of Nigeria’s independence in 1960. he urged Ndigbo to continue to work in unity to maintain their pride of place in the political, economic, social and academic spheres of the country. He described Eze Ilomuanya as a true Igbo son.
In his response, Eze Ilomuanya , Obi of Obinugwu, pledged that he will always support the organization morally and other wise. He advocates for genuine love among Ndigbo. He prayed God to bless and protect those who have human heart. He thanked the organization for the visit.
