D. Gov Madumere Commissions Oka C G C Secretariat

The people of Oka Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano L. G. A. of Imo State have been commended for single handedly built a modern community Government Council Secretariat for the smooth running of the 4th tier government in the area.
The Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lady Maria Amah made the Commendation while Commissioning the C G C Secretariat built under self-help effort by the Community.
Lady Amah who expressed joy that the ideals for which the Community Government Council was established by Governor Okorocha have started materializing in virtually all the Communities, further enjoined other Communities to emulate the people of Oka Community, in order to scale up grassroots development in the state.
The Permanent Secretary also disclosed that planting of hybrid palm seedlings in the state has become compulsory for all the Communities, and implored the people of Oka Community to join the Crusade on planting of palm trees and noted that when the palm trees mature, would boost the economy of the Communities and the state at large.
According to her, the Rescue Administration of Governor Okorocha will soon employ about 7000 teachers under the “Youth Must Work Program”. She therefore advised the youths in the state to shun social vices and noted that as future leaders that Okorocha’s Administration has packaged programmes that would empower them to be self reliant.
Commenting on the state of their road, She also assured them that as soon as the dry season sets the contractors handling their roads will go back to site.
Earlier in their welcome address, the traditional Ruler of Oka Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Benson Ohalete on behalf of the Community thanked the pragmatic Governor of the State for establishing the Community Government pointed out that the C G C is one of the best things that has happened to the people of the state, adding that it has brought governance closer to their doorsteps and made the masses to contribute in the day to day affairs of their Communities.
Eze Ohalete who further applause the laudable achievements of Governor Okorocha in the state ranging from free education at all levels, massive infrastructural development to building of new schools roads, and hospitals, described him as God sent to the people of Imo State.
He equally appealed to the state Government to remember the road leading to their Community and pointed out that Oka Community is totally Cut-off from their sister Communities due to lack of accessible road; thereby making it impossible to sale their agricultural produce and wares to the market.
