The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter has called upon the Economic Financial Crime Commission to beam its torch light more in Imo State before the state coffers is “licked” dry, saying that Okorocha is running “Agbata Ekee” Government.
The call was made in a release signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu, who raised the alarm that a heartless and highly deceitful administration has taken hold of the state.
In order to arrest the “looting” in the state, PDP said in the release that it would “begin to galvanize the people to embark on vehement demand for the recovery of all the funds that “Okorocha has siphoned from the Treasury through numerous phantom projects”.
The PDP said its attention was draw to the altercation between on Mr Osita Okereke, a contractor to the Imo State Government “who alleged that Governor Okorocha collected the sum of N24 million as gratification in respect of a contract awarded to his company, Nnutoch Global Ventures”
PDP said it was unfortunate that the only answer Okorocha could give to such serious allegation was that Mr Okorocha was playing the antic of “questionable character” which the PDP said was embarrassing for a Governor to have still gone ahead to award such contract to Okereke when he knew his character as being “questionable”.
Imo PDP said the Okereke versus Okorocha saga, was exactly the same with the JPross matter, where the contractor said he left site because he paid nearly half of his mobilization fund for “Kickback”.
But Imo PDP was pained the more when it looks likely that “uptill now, there are no signs that the over N1.3B lost in that scam will ever be recovered by the state”.
Therefore, the PDP begged EFCC and ICPC to comb the financial Account of Imo State, as it believes it stinks with “Agbata Ekee” business.
