Water Projects: Always Protect Your Facilities Against Vandals – Engr Eluwa

Managing Director of Anambra, Imo, River Basin Development Authority, Owerri Imo state. Engr. Onu C. Eluwa has charged Communities to always provide adequate securities on water projects provided for them against vandalization by miscreants.
He gave this charge Last Saturday during the commissioning of a water project at Okoro na Okazi village Amuzi Community in Amuzi community of Aboh Mbaise LGA Imo state, even while he pledged to replace the power generating plant with a solar energy powered panel to save them from spending money for diesel.
Engr. Onu, who represented the minister of water resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe also noted that many villages have always vandalized water facilities few months after it was commissioned and cautioned them on the dangers of following that way too, just as he used the opportunity to thank the people of the area over their patience while the project lasted.
In her remarks, the minister of state 1, Foreign Affairs, Professor Lady Viola Onwuliri, whose late husband, Professor Celestine Onwuliri, FAS initiated the project expressed happiness on the completion of the water project stated that the project was realized because of the magnanimity of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who according to her provided the fund through the federal ministry of water resources to her agency to make project a dream come through, just as she described Jonathan as a “transformative president”, after which she officially cut the tape and declared the water open to public use to the glory o God.
Among the dignitaries on the event where the traditional ruler of Amaumara and the chairman, Mbaise Council Of Traditional rulers, HRH Eze Ositadimma Benneth Nwokocha, Eze Francis Unamka of Amuzi Community Aboh Mbaise, Eze Marcellinus Waturuocha,Eze Udo V of Nguru Nwekeocha Community Aboh Mbaise all in Imo state. Others were Ezinna Nicholas Obasi, Chief Patrick Chiemena, Chief john Igbokwe, Mrs. Love Anyanwu and Hon. Oliver Onyeamanam.
