Zoning Madness: Equity Favours Okigwe!!

okigwe zone

Owerri zone is mine. I am part of it .1 am eminently qualified to be a Governorship aspirant apart from “cash” what else? Degree qualifications, school certificate? First School Leaving Certificate? Diploma Certificate?. Thats by the way. My contention is that Owerri is eminently qualified to grab this converted seat this time around but let’s face the fact and shame the devil. Am entitled to my opinion, and it can not be disputed. OKigwe by the original charter of equity as we were made to swallow hook and sinker should be allowed to complete their tenure! If I may ask; where is the original charter of equity? Why organizing another equity charter where the first one is not dispensed with. Who is fooling who? What legacy are we leaving for the next generation of our children? A group of confusionists sprang up in Imo Political minefield in 2011 and made us to believe that there is nothing like zoning. I know them; you know them; they know themselves. They campaigned against zoning and the original charter of equity which our brothers in Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri zones amicably agreed upon; sealed and delivered. It was because they said that for Okigwe to go the second time, it was over their dead bodies. It did not favour them. They scattered the equity charter. This time it favours them, or they have realized their mistakes and want us to believe that zoning is real. Those in Owerri who beckoned on Orlu zone to continue after their mandatory 8 year tenure of post-Udenwa and mid 4 year tenure of Ohakim should know they cannot eat their cake and have it. Unless there is Owerri patient and wise handshake across Okigwe and a kind of rapprochement, Owerr zone alone can not make itself Governor of Imo State. In the original charter of equity, let Okigwe complete her tenure. Orlu zone should be matured enough to see reason for these other zones to fulfill their zonal tenures for justice and equity, if at all we are serious of “being our brothers or sisters” keepers mantra. I decided to keep quiet because, the Imo electorate will vote persons and not zones but for equity to reign, lets to away with childish postulations. If you say it is either Owerri zone or nothing; another person will say “it is either Okigwe zone or nothing” and the rest will echo, it is either Orlu zone or nothing; then things will fall part and Douglass House as a centre will not hold. Ngor-Okpala has continued to cry and cry of marginalization. It is true. For the 3rd time running, they are not allowed to produce a House of Representative or senate member. For the 3rd time, Mbaitoli L.G.A have been denied a representative at the Federal House. Is that equity?
Let’s call a spade a spade and not a working material. Okigwe zone has its first second and third elevens. They should be accorded that “original chater right? No zone is too important. But every zone is equally important. They play complimentary role to one another”. No zone should try to dominate the other, because of being bigger in numerical strength or smaller in numerical strength. If take for instance, Owerri zone and Okigwe zone can conveniently check mate Orlu zone. Orlu zone has 12 Local Government to compete with Owerri 9 plus Okigwe – 6 making 15 Local Governments in strength politically. Okigwe may decide to back Orlu 12 plus 6 LGA (Okigwe) making it 18 Local Governments in strength, perpually keeping Owerri zone in political limbo till thy kingdom come. In this scenario, it will not sound patatatable. Owerri zone demand for a place in 2015 is not out of place but for confusionists that danced to our Orlu brothers to enter the boxing ring in 2011, Owerri zone could have gotten a very strong point with Okigwe’s full backing. If Orlu decides to back Owerri zone it equally will not favour Okigwe zone; but “power” once in power, it is always difficult for the incumbent to see reason. Zone or no zone, my take is good governance anchored on due process, rule of law respect to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; above all fear of God and respect to the dignity and integrity of Human kind. Let’s return to original charter of Equity, justice and fair play.
36 votes are not greater than 2051 votes, gospel according to ?
16 Governors are not greater than 19 governors, gospel according

5 legislators are not greater than 35 or so legislators in Rivers state. We shall stick to the truth to heal our land and our democracy! To restore equity, redress the injustice done to Senator Araraume, in 2007 for this state to return to political peace. Orlu, Owerri, Okigwe zones are all brothers.
