The Nigerian Institute of Criminal Justice and Criminology (NICJC), under the law and justice administration in a release issued to press men during an interview last week at Umuofor Oguta LGA in Imo state, stated that the NICJC which is a new concept academic institution, designed to train and encourage students who wish to take up careers in any aspect of security agency both public and private will soon be lunched. As only eligible candidates with 5 passes in mathematics at WAEC and GCE can purchase their forms at any Union bank branch.

Briefing news men at his residence, the acting registrar Bartho Anyanji, who stated that the concept for institutionalizing the academy is also aimed at reducing the crime rate in the society, pointing out that with the brain of our present Nigeria, if security agents or personnel advance to the 21st century techniques, the crime rate of the country will have a persistent decline.
He however added that the concept of the institution which was borrowed from the United States of America is also aimed at equipping top security officials to have effects and impact positively to crime related issues.
Earlier, the proprietor of NICJC Prof. E.C Opara stated that Nigeria is lacking behind in enhancing security personnel’s, adding that security in-balance experienced in the nation today is as a result of ignorance and lack of educational background amongst some security agents.
He further advocated for a redefined Justice system so as to accommodate the common man in Nigeria, and more so, advised Nigerians in the Diaspora who are expert in tackling crime to come back home and help to fighting crime and support the NICJC.
