Oghu Is Not An Ocultic Ceremony

Occasionally Africans celebrates cultural events to preserve cultures and traditions inherited from generations past, from one cultural feast to another, some still wonder the existence of some fetish festivals that exhibits age long ritualistic practice, of which in recent time, the society considers it as occultic or barbaric.
Speaking to newsmen, the host of an Oghu cultural event which was held last weekend at the Unity Primary school, and the apex leader of APGA Umuaka Ward 1, Hon. John Kennedy, who emphatically stated that the Oghu festival is a traditional/cultural dance and not a cult ceremony, adding that the festivity is jointly celebrated by Njiaba, Isu, Oru and Nwangele environs which occasionally takes place between the last week of May through to the mid of August, where each community has specified dates for their exhibition aimed at promoting peace and unity through-out the communities.
Speaking, Hon. Dr. Chief Eddy Chidi Ikwubuo, pointed out that the Oghu dance festival is an apex cultural activity exhibited through out the 9 communities that made up the ancient kingdom of Aka-land he further added that during the Oghu celebration, the people of Aka-land must embrace utmost peace. He advised other communities to revive their cultural/traditional festivities that promote peace, love and unity amongst its people for an attainable development.
He further commended the present administration for doing his best, but should take into consideration, the consultation of local technocrats and invest in human capital engineering so as to carry Imolites along, adding that time for electioneering is over as this is the time for governance.
Earlier, the Oghu cultural event which its dance steps are only displayed by male folks thrilled the teeming crowd with spectacular skills, and as community Chivies, community leaders, and personalities of high repute were present. More so, colorful masquerade were on display to add beauty to the occasion.
