A serious war is brewing within the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA Imo State Chapter, as the Ward Chairmen have vowed to revolt against the State Chairman, Chief Marshall Okafor Anyanwu following allegations that he runs the affairs of the party us a personal estate.

Speaking to Trumpeta the Ward Chairmen who pleaded anonymity said that the Party Chairman has been owing them their monthly stipends for over eight months now even as they alleged that whenever he desires to pay them, he gives them short of what was due to them.

The Ward Chairmen said they were supposed to receive twelve thousand naira (12,000) every month to run their offices and hold meetings at the Grassroots, but Anyanwu pays them a paltry five thousand naira (N5,000) monthly, which they received last eight months ago.

“We only receive (N5000) monthly instead of N12,000, and this has affected the fortune of our great Party at the grassroot. The other day we wanted to tell the Governor at Ahiajoku Centre, but the Party Chairman threatened us” one of the Chairmen told Trumpeta.

When contacted on phone, the APGA Chairman in Imo State, Chief Marshall Okafor Anyanwu told Trumpeta that the report could not have come from any of his Ward Chairmen, pointing out that he goes out of his way to take care of the Ward Chairmen, for the development of the party at the grassroot.
He maintained that party officers are usually not supposed to earn salaries, yet he pays his Ward Chairmen every month.

Anyanwu said N5,000 was usually paid to them, but there was an improvement to N10,000, adding that it was a gesture from those funding the Party, and said no Ward Chairman from APGA in Imo state could complain of ill treatment.

“Does party officials earn salaries? Does PDP pay their officers? No Ward Chairman of APGA can say that he or she is being owed. Whoever said that is not an APGA Ward Chairman” Anyanwu told Trumpeta.
