Chief Longers Anyanwu, has joined the race for the coveted seat of the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, at the National Convention which comes up next month.
Speaking to Journalists at the Imo PDP State Secretariat, Owerri, the former Commissioner for Agriculture in Imo State said he is eminently qualified to be the image maker of PDP at the National level because he has the experience it takes to occupy such position.
The Obowo born politician said that as a Media Expert and Consultant, he will be proactive in his job, if voted into office, pointing out that rather than wait for the opposition parties to dictate the pace in the media for PDP, he would instead take the battle to their domain for them to be in the defensive.
The pioneer National Chairman of Accord Party said that the position of PDP National Secretary demands a lot, and that national players like him will fit into the office like a second skin, since he has the wherewithal to move the image of PDP to the next level.
“You see, President Goodluck Jonathan has done a lot, including in the area of Aviation and Economy which has remained stable now for months. It needs experienced hand like me to x-ray all these things and take it to the public domain”, Anyanwu said.
The “Ebube Dike of Obowo” maintained that the opposition political parties spend a whole day in seven days of the month looking for loophole on how to attack PDP, and promised that when he assumes office that trend will change, as he will shatter that strategy.
Chief Anyanwu expressed the optimism that he would like to emerge in a convention where members of PDP across Nigeria will vote, for him to know he has the mandate of the party members, and therefore carryout his job with his shoulders held high.
Responding, the Chairman of Imo PDP, Bar Eze Duruiheoma thanked Anyanwu for taking his campaign team to the PDP office in Owerri, even though the election will take place in Abuja, and pledged the support of Imo PDP Exco members.
The party Chairman used the forum to describe the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as a rudderless administrator who has through his “Voodoo Economic Policy” put Imo yet unborn into a bondage through numerous loans running into Billions of Naira.
