The embattled outgoing Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Smauel Agunwa Ohiri is experiencing another round of trouble as another case for determination by the law court bothering on impersonation is hanging on his neck.
It would be recalled that the Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, under Justice Philomena Ekpe, last Friday sacked Eze Ohiri and reinstated Eze Ilomuanya who was removed from office as Chairman Ndi Eze Imo by the administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Since the court has adjudicated on the matter by accepting Ilomuanya’s appeal that he was wrongly sacked, the next case of impersonation filed against Ohiri by Ilomuanya may now get accelerated hearing.
In the High Court of Imo State, holding at Owerri Judicial Division, before Justice Paschal Nnadi of High Court 4, Ilomuanya among other things sought an order for Eze Ohiri to vacate the office of the Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and surrender all properties pertaining to the said office and pay N500,000,000 (five hundred million naira) damages.
In suit No HOW/360/2012, Ilomuanya, further sought for an injunction restraining the defendant from further interfering with or intermeddling with his functions as Chairman of Ndi Eze Imo, as well as all acts, and actions carried out by the Defendant purportedly as the Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers (Ndi Eze) are null and void and of no effect.
Ilomuanya through his counsel, O.A. Obianwu Esq SAN, demanded for the N500m compensation from Ohiri, claiming that Okorocha’s Chairman of Ndi Eze not only usurped the position but also forcefully taken over properties and assets like vehicles and documents pertaining to the said office.
Meanwhile, the camp of Eze Ilomuanya are perfecting strategies to ensure that the declaration judgment by Justice Ekpe for the re-instatement of Obi of Obiangwu as Chairman of Imo monarchs.
Trumpeta learnt that Ilomuanya and his legal team are working to get copies of the judgment to enable security operatives effect the court order immediately.
It was gathered that security operatives are waiting for the copies of the court order ensure compliance.
Meanwhile, Eze Ohiri is still studying details of judgment before his next move. According to his media aide, Gift Nwokoro, “we are still studying the judgment with a view to getting legal experts advice on the issue.
