In what could be termed sacrilege and man’s wickedness against fellow man, the state government under Gov Okorocha has bounced on Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his property being used by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, blocking the entrance to the Church with a giant refuse bin in what people believe is an aftermath of Oguta Re-run election.

Speaking to Trumpeta, the pastor-in-charge of the affected church, Pastor Ogaga Ekpo, told our reporter that what the government has done is an insult and embarrassment to God. The cleric said it all started on Tuesday 2nd July, 2013 when a driver of ENTRACO conveying a giant disposable bin dropped it at the church entrance with its oozing content to block worshippers from gaining entrance to the church.

He went further to reveal that they pleaded with the driver to remove it to no avail. The pastor added that when the driver left, youths of the church, okada riders and other youths of the area mobilized and pushed the said bin out of the entrance. The shocked pastor also said that after removing the waste bin, one of the church members, Bro Emma Nduka alleged that the Commissioner for Petroleum and Environment, Hon Ekweremba, came and ordered that the bin be pushed back to block the gate of the church. The Pastor submitted that it is a deliberate and calculated action aimed at Chief Iwuanyanwu their landlord and children of God.

In his own reaction, the assistant pastor, Evangelist Mathias Ohalete, emphasized that the action of government was targeted at the owner of the property, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as a PDP Chieftain over the Oguta Assembly re-run election which was declared inconclusive by INEC. He went further to ask why did they not block Chief Iwuanyanwu’s private house which is a stone throw from the church.

Trumpeta also sort the views of some neighbours of the church, Lolo Martha Agbanyim, a tailor, whose shop is directly opposite the church gate confirmed that most of them doing their businesses around that place appealed to the ENTRACO officials not to block the church entrance but they insisted and blocked the gate.

One other neighbour of the church, also a tailor averred that the people that did that have committed abomination before God and man. He added that they would have fought those government agents who did the heartless job but the fear of government throwing them into jail prevented them.

However, the pastors have appealed to the government to count them out of their politics and personal differences, “We are only tenants that pay our rent, if the government has anything against our landlord they should settle it themselves and not bring in the church. God is watching”! They cautioned.
