The Head of Special Project of Imo Trumpeta group, Mr Ohanele Casca is now the new News Editor of the organization. This was made known to the entire staff by the Managing Editor, Hon Gerry Ogu who said that the Imo Trumpeta in a bid to remain the voice of the people has appointed the former Head of Special Project as the News Editor in order to deepen the responsibility of the organization to its readers. He added that Mr Ohanele has proven to be a reliable hand hence the added responsibility given to him.
In his remark, the Editor-in-Chief, Hon Henry Ekpe noted that the News Editor is a seasoned practitioner of the media profession whose experience and ideology is in line with that of Trumpeta. He charged the News Editor to add value and work with other editors as a team to improve the news content.
Reacting, the new News Editor, thanked the management team made up of Gerry Ogu, Henry Ekpe and Kelechi Mejuobi who he described as the Triumpharate. He assured that with the confidence they have in him, he will bring his experience to bear to ensure that Trumpeta continue to be among the best in the country. Mr Ohanele called on the reporters to be more committed as there is much work to be done. Mr Ohanele Casca joined Trumpeta in 2012. Before joining Trumpeta, he has worked with defunct Post Express Newspaper, Lagos; Abuja Correspondent for Statesman and Leadership Newspaper Abuja. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from International Institute of Journalism Abuja an affiliate of University of Maidugiri and he is a member of NUJ
