The former Governor, who was at Umueze Ezuhu Nguru, Aboh Mbaise LGA, on a condolence visit, was accompanied by former Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Council Chairmen who worked under the Ohakim era.

He described Late Aguwa as a core professional who designed the environmental frame work which changed the face of Owerri, and earned Imo State the status of the cleanest state in Nigeria from 2008-2011.

“Late Aguwa was the moving force behind the ENTRACO, one of its kinds in Nigeria, which became a case-study for all other states in the Federation” Ohakim said.

Ohakim disclosed that it was out of patriotism that Late Aguwa left his job in the United States of America, USA, and returned home to serve Imo State.

He implored the Aguwa family, the entire Mbaise clan, and Imo State in general to bear the irreparable loss of Dr Aloysius Aguwa, whom he said died too early.

In his response, Chief Okey Aguwa, the Elder brother of Aloysius thanked Ohakim and his entourage of former expanded State Executive members for making out time to identify with the family in their time of sorrow.

It would be recalled that Dr Aloysius Aguwa died in a motor accident on May 1, 2013, along East-West road, Yenegoa, Bayelsa State, while on official duty.

His remains would be buried on Friday, tomorrow at his family compound, Aboh Mbaise, LGA.
