Igbo Victims Of Violent Attack: MOSIP Partners With Imo Government

Piqued by unjust incessant attacks of Igbos living in diverse parts of the country and even in diaspora by other ethnic nationalities and fanatical religious sects, Movement for the Survival of Igbo People (MOSIP) in collaboration with Imo State Government has advanced plans to pay tribute to eminent Igbo sons and daughters who have been victims of various crises and violent acts in Nigeria and in diaspora.

According to a press statement endorsed by Chief Maxwell Nwokeji and Comrade Maxwell Ezelagu, the organization’s National Chairman and secretary respectively, the historic event christened “Igbo Day of Tribute” which comes up on Tuesday 28th May at Heros Square, Owerri will witness a mammoth crowd and eminent personalities in Nigeira and diaspora who are sympathetic to Igbo cause and plight.

The maiden event which they insisted is in memory of all Igbo sons and daughters who were unjustly but brutally killed in various crises and violent acts in Nigeria and in diaspora will also serve as an ample opportunity for Ndigbo to collectively reflect, mourn and pay tributes to the innocent departed citizens of the ethnic group as well as send a strong worded message to the mischievous ethnic groups that “Enough is Enough”.

They pointed out that MOSIP which is a non political and agenda setting Igbo pressure group has a committed but dedicate mission and vision of defending Igbo interests in Nigeria, uniting members of the ethnic group both at home and in diaspora as well as galvanized efforts towards socio-economic and infrastructural development of the ethnic region through self-help and communal efforts.

The group with the motto “Odi Nma Ndi Igbo”, also reiterated their unflinching commitment  in the co-ordination, harmonizing and networking of the various Igbo organizations, unions, associations etc into a united and virile Igbo platform that can effectively serve for the holistic developmental interests of Ndigbo in all ramifications.
