he Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has stated the governments resolve to appoint new Magistrates in the state Ministry of Justice to alleviate the burden of assignments vested on the existing ones and to enhance speedy dispensation of justice at the grassroot.
The assurance was given during a meeting Governor Okorocha had with members of the Magistrates Association of Nigeria Imo state chapter at the government house Owerri.
Governor Okorocha also promised to repackage the judicial system in Imo state to make it stand out among others in Nigeria and also promised to look into their request for the provision of official vehicles to make their job easier.
He also assured the magistrates that, he has approved their oversea trips once every year and will in addition approve the allocation of one plot of land for each and every one of them to solve their accommodation problems.
The governor stressed the need for a quarterly meeting of the Magistrate Association of Nigeria Imo state chapter as a way of attending to some of their pressing needs.
Earlier, the leader of the Magistrate and administrative judge in the Imo state judiciary, Justice Ijeoma Agugua, pledged unalloyed support to the rescue mission agenda of governor Okorocha.
Justice Agugua pleaded with the governor to provide them with official vehicles since, according to her, their job involves movement into the hinterlands where the roads are rugged.
