Teachers Salary Labour lashes Okorocha on Mode of Payment .Says it is Counter Productive

In what could be perceived by the Rescue Mission Agenda government led by Gov Rochas Okorocha, as anti Rochanism, who believes that every action and policy of his government is the best, anti Rochanization was handed down by the Organized Labour Union, Imo Chapter when it faulted and asked for the reverse of mode of payment of salaries to Imo Teachers.

Dr. R.A. Anyadike, Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress Imo State Chapter, in an address endorsed by all the Labour/Trade Unions in the state read at this year’s (2013) Workers Day celebration at the Heroes Square faulted the policy for being counter productive. He stressed that the incessant abandonment of class work by teachers in order to collect their salaries in cheques at their various local government headquarters causes more damage to the education system.

The address also argued that such method/policy does not encourage teachers’ welfare considering the logistic stress they pass through traveling to their different council headquarters let alone the horrible experience in queuing up to collect the cheques.

However, the Union asked the Okorocha led government to reverse the policy as a matter of urgency because it is counter productive. The Union then pleaded with the governor to save Imo pupils and teachers from such ugly experiences and situation and save the state education from its looming and impending disaster.
