Sure P Beneficiaries Inaugurated in Orlu LGA

he beneficiaries of Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P_ in Orlu Iga have been inaugurated. The ceremony took place at the residence of Chief CaniceMoore Nwachukwu, the Orlu local government co-ordinator of SURE-P, on the 24th April, 2013. “You are hereby inaugurated as members of SURE-P Chief Nwachukwu assured.

Speaking at the inauguration Chief Nwachukwu said the program will go along way in reducing unemployment, filth and insecurity in Orlu Iga, as he advised the beneficiaries to be disciplined, dedicated, steadfast, Good-fearing, neat and peaceful, as laziness and truancy are not condoned. He thanked the federal government for initiating such a life-touching programme.

However, Chief Peter Okolie, one of the co-ordinators SURE-P, thanked Chief CaniceMoore Nwachukwu for his efforts in organizing the program, emphasizing that the second batch of the program will be double, saying that the conduct of the beneficiaries on the exercise will to a large extent determine whether or not the programme will last.

In his vote of thanks, Hon Magnus Nnadi of Umuowa Umuzike ward thanked God for His grace, and urged the beneficiaries to discharge their responsibilities with the fear of God. He pleaded that those programmes should be absorbed in the second batch to ease the tension of unemployment.

Working tools showcased in the inauguration include: wheelbarrow, shovels, brooms, headpams, rake, cutlasses, to aid the vigilante security and the sanitary beneficiaries of the programme.

Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) is a welfare oriented federal government programme designed by the Goodluck Jonathan administration to provide skills, empower and provide job to jobless Nigerians in the three tiers of government.
