UWAJUMOGU EXPLODES SAYS HOW AGBASO, PDP CHAIEFTAIN OFFERED HIM N3bn TO REMOVE OKOROCHA THE PRESIDENCY CONNECTION

As the messier details of the intrigues surrounding the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Jude Agbaso   continue to gather momentum, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly has again opened up on how they patriarch of the Agbasos, Martin allegedly offered him a bribe to remove the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Uwajumaogu who is at the centre of the storm as the number one lawmaker of the State Assembly who impeached Jude recently named some top PDP chieftains including the National Vice Chairman (South East) Augustine Akobundu, accused Martin Agbaso and others of offering him N3bn to impeach the Governor.

The Imo Speaker told newsmen in Owerri that the elder Agbaso, Akobundu and others of PDP extraction allegedly promised to give him the money, if he facilitates the impeachment to create opportunities for the then deputy, Jude Agbaso to take charge.

According to Uwajumogu, “last August, the Elder Agbaso invited me for a meeting saying he wanted to assist me from being removed from office. I attended the meeting in Anambra State at the home of the businessman. We had PDP members including Akaboundu in attendance. I was told that the Presidency has directed that impeachment proceedings be commenced against Governor Okrorcha so that Jude Agbaso can take over. The sum of N3bn was offered to me and adequate protection. I asked them to give me the evidence that was required to impeach the Governor and till date they have not given me any evidence.

Speaking further on the issue, the Imo Speaker disclosed that the state governor got wind of the matter and confronted Agbaso and him on the matter. “I owned up and since there was no evidence I didn’t think it was anything to worry about”

While Agbaso and Akobundu could not be reached for comments, the State PDP said that the allegation against the party is part of Uwajumogu’s fairy tale which has become his trademark since he dumped the party and joined APGA when he emerged the Speaker on the day of inauguration.

According to the party’s spokesperson, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu “impeaching Okorocha for Jude Agbaso to become the state Governor would have not been of any benefit to the PDP in the state as it would not have any effect since it would have still be an APGA arrangement. Instead of attempting to impeach the Governor or his Deputy as erroneously created, PDP is using legitimate means through court process to challenge his election”
