St Charles Catholic Church Honours Lolo Ohanele

As part of the activities  marking the 2013 Mothers Day celebrations, the Catholic Women Organisation CWO of St Charles Catholic Church Ezuhu/Amadi in Nguru Nweke Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State has honoured a renowned Catholic/ Community woman leader, an industrialist and mother per excellence, Lolo Florence Adanma Ohanele, (Nee Inechi Njoku) of Eziala Umunneato Autonomous Community of Aboh Mbaise with a prestigious Eziada Nwere Ugwu award ( A First Daughter that is an epitome of dignity and honour of womanhood)

Preaching the sermon at the church service, the Parish Priest of St Charles Catholic Church, Very Rev Monsgr Paul Amakiri, called on Christian women to show good examples at all times. He admonished all women to follow the foot steps of the Blessed Virgin Mary in caring for not only their biological children but also children of others. Monsgr Amakiri charged Christian women to be partners in progress with their spouses, noting that only a peaceful family enjoys progress and gives their children good upbringing.

High point of the ceremony marking the occasion of the Mothering Sunday was the decoration of 7 recipients of Eziada Award by the President of CWO of the church, Mrs Nwachukwu in the company of Lolo Obani, Mrs Osuagwu, and Mrs Justina Inechi Njoku (Ambassador of Mary) past Presidents of  the CWO. While conferring the award on Lolo hoping and that the award will strengthen her the more in carrying out her role as a good Christian mother.

In appreciation of the honour given to Lolo Ohanele by the entire Ezuhu/Amadi and the Catholic community, the 3rd son of the award recipient, Hon. Casca Ohanele who spoke on behalf of the Ohanele family thanked his maternal people for appreciating their mother in such a big way. He extolled the virtues of his mother who he described as a virtuous mother, a rugged disciplinarian, a resourceful and generous mother, who championed the education of the girl child in Eziala Community where she was married to. Hon Ohanele noted that their mother was a renowned President of CWO and treasurer of many organisations for many years without any scandal.  He added that their mother was a strong pillar of support to their father in ensuring that her eleven children came out responsible graduates. In appreciation of the award by the family, he made a donation of N100, 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) to the church on behalf of the Ohanele family. The daughters in law of the recipient who described Eziada as the best mother-in-law any woman can dream have, also made some cash donations. Speaking to our reporter, many friends and well wishers of the awardee showered encomiums on Eziada Florence Ohanele and describing her as mother of mothers and prayed for God’s blessings on her as they described the award as an honour well deserved. Some other recipients include: Eziada Ann Ndukwu, Eziada Madam Angelina Eke, Eziada Anastecia Nwachukwu’ Eziada Patricia Okereke’ Eziada Emilia Chika Eke and Eziada Lolo Grace Ihunna.
