IMO APGA CRISIS POLICE DETAIN PARTY CHAIRMAN

It has been revealed that following the appointment of the former State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Imo State Chapter, Prince C.C Nwaka as a Government appointee, his Deputy, Chief John Iwuala was supposed to emerge as the state Chairman according to the party’s constitution. But contrary to the constitution the state Governor appointed Prince Marshal Okoroafor Anyanwu as Nwaka’s replacement, not minding that the Prince Nwaka led executive is still with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the authentic Imo APGA executive. As if the denial was not enough for the supposed APGA Chairman, Chief Iwuala was arrested last two weeks by unknown Police officers from Imo State Government House Owerri who accused him of impersonation as PA to the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, also running a nongovernmental Organisation targeted at destroying the activities of the state government including, Arms trading and defilement of a 13 year old girl. A youth group, The Dynamic Igbo Youth Forum(DIYF) who Iwuala was the former President has raised its voice to ask the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Musa Katsina to please intervene and grant Chief Iwuala bail which is long overdue or charge him to court as a matter of urgency for him to prove his innocence. Speaking on behalf of the group members, Comrade Ambrose Obi revealed that all effort by the group to see the Police Commissioner or see the detained Chief Iwuala has been rebuffed by the Police. Comrade Obi however described the allegations and arrest of Chief Iwuala as mere blackmail and political antics purpoted to rubbish his political career and deny him the state APGA Chairmanship. DIYF disclosed that they condemn evil, injustice, and fight for fundamental human rights and have vowed not to allow Chief Iwuala languish in the cell.
