As the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Sir Jude Agbaso faces the political quagmire of impeachment staring him in the face, there is yet another fresh trouble being exhumed by his traducers.
Imo Trumpeta was informed that Sir Jude Agbaso has allegedly been fingered as the brain behind the snail speed at which the Government Liaison Offices in the LGAs of the state are taking off the ground.
A top Government source told this Newspaper that Sir Jude Agbaso will face another investigation over the sitting Allowances meant for the GLOs, as his detractors are bent on taking him to the cleaners, for daring to fight the Governor.
Sources said Jude Agbaso entered the current trouble, following a maiden meeting of the GLOs which held at the Ahiajoku Centre, New Owerri, two Tuesdays ago.
It was said that the meeting had over one hundred and sixty members in attendance. At the said meeting, it was alleged, Sir Agbaso informed the participants that the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha had approved the sum of N50,000 (fifty thousand naira) each as sitting allowance for the invitees.
However, trouble started when at the end of the meeting, and envelops were handed over to the participants, it was discovered that only N20,000 (twenty thousand naira) were found in the envelops. This caused uproar, as the participants rejected the sitting allowances threatening that unless it was completed they would not accept it. And in the end they all left without the envelops.
This development attracted the attention of the Senior Official of the Government, who was sitting beside Agbaso and they had verbal exchange of words openly.
Sources said, if not for the present situation facing Agbaso, Gov Okorocha had planed confronted his Deputy with the said scenario at Ahiajoku Centre.
Meanwhile, an aide of the embattled Deputy Governor, who pleaded anonymity, said there was nothing of sort concerning GLO Allowances and his Boss.
The Aide said that because the powers that be are doing every thing possible to remove Sir Jude Agbaso from office, they now concoct stories to smear the Young Deputy Governor.
“There is a Commissioner in charge of Government Liaison Officers. So, how can they leave the Commissioner and hand over GLO’s money to the Deputy Governor? This is another frame up” he said.
The Deputy Governor’s Aide said that God is watching all those who think they can because of the quest for power destroy an innocent young man, adding that God will fight for Jude Agbaso.
“What is not under question is that Jude Agbaso was a rich young man before he entered politics. He was successful and doing his business before fate threw him into politics. But he will come out of his present ordeal with his shoulders held high”, the aide said.
Meanwhile, Imo Trumpeta learnt that the forces against Jude Agbaso are not ready to let go as they have vowed to wrestle him to the ground. It was learnt that more documents are being collated to expose, nail and disgrace him out of office for having the effrontery to challenge the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, including threatening to open a Pandora box of infamy against the first family of Imo state instead of begging for pardon.
Imo Trumpeta learnt that one of the documents to deal with Jude Agbaso is that of a road in Uratta, which sources say will by the icing on the cake.
