Apparently unhappy over certain unwholesome act related to same practices, one, Onyema Chigozie Franklin has been banished from his Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume community in Njaba LGA, Imo State, South East part of Nigeria, by his kinsmen.
Trumpeta newspapers got wind of this from a Public Notice publication made Public by the Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume community in Njaba LGA of Imo State after Onyema Chigozie Franklin was accused of alleged gay practice.
According to the notice issued on 20th September, 2023, he was banished from the community because of his sexual orientation that touched on Homosexuality.
The statement reads signed by Ikemba Ugochukwu Marshal Secretary General of Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume Autonomous Community reads; “NOTICE!! NOTICE!! NOTICE!!
This is to inform the general public that Mr. Onyema Chigozie Franklin, who was born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Adikaibe Onyema Raphael who is a native of Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume, Njaba Local Government Area, Orlu , Imo state is on this day 22nd, September, 2023 banished from the community because of his sexual orientation( Homosexuality) which goes against the customs and norm of our land. His(Mr. Onyema Chigozie Franklin) sexual preference/orientation is a sacrilege, taboo, and desecration of the community and against the laws of Nigeria at large.
Henceforth, any member of the community( Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume) who associates with him directly or indirectly will be severely penalized, and whatever he(Mr. Onyema Chigozie Franklin) does henceforth should not be associated with and does not concern, portray, or reflect on the norms, culture, and values of the community( Umuodudu, Umueze Nkume)”
Since then the whereabouts of Onyema Chigozie Franklin has not been known as it is suspected he has fled his community to unknown location.
