Why I Joined APGA – Ugochi- Nnanna Okoro

 

Newly appointed Commissioner for Community Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr (Mrs.) Ugochi Nnanna – Okoro, Tuesday, said her desire to be identified with the monumental achievements of Owelle Rochas Okorocha compelled her to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)

 

Okoro, who spoke at her formal declaration as a member of APGA held at Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri, said “we have a progressive, visionary and altruistic man at   the helm of affairs steering the ship of a progressive party, APGA. As an acclaimed lady of the masses, I share these qualities with His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha’’ She continued “I want to be identified with this great man and achiever, a philanthropist and a crusader for the oppressed, I want to be identified with this man who shares my philosophy of using politics as a vehicle to improve the society, leaving it better than one met it.

 

She reiterated her disdain for godfatherism and to stick to the truth, stressing that she has consistently stood against deceit, dishonesty, double speak and mischief in politics.

 

Earlier, in his speech, Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, described Barr (Mrs.) Nnanna Okoro as an astute politician who has distinguished herself in her chosen field of human endeavour. Among dignitaries who witnessed the event include the State Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso, members of the state Executive Council, wife of Imo State  Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, Imo APGA chairman, Prince Marshal Okafor Anyanwu , ISOPAPEC Board member, Gibson Achonwa Njemanze (oyiga) and others.
