..As Omuma Central Union Endorses Governor’s Second Term Bid
The beautiful and serene community of Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State was tensed with Joy and euphoria recently as who is who in the area gathered together to give support and solidarity to their illustrious son His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma.
The events which has Oru East L.G.A multi-purpose hall as its venue witnessed tremendous crowd of sons and daughters of the area from all works of life. All leadership segments of Omuma clan were duly represented in the meeting which comprises the four traditional rulers of the four Omuma Autonomous Communities, the President Generals and Secretaries of the four Omuma Autonomous Communities, the leadership of all political parties in Omuma, all political appointees in Omuma, the President General women wing of Omuma Central Union and her Excos, the chairman of Omuma Central Union and Excos both home and abroad, the chairlady Umuada Omuma and her Excos, the President Omuma Graduate Association and his Excos.
The convener of the meeting and the President General of Omuma Central Union Chief Kenneth Okafor (Nwachinaemere) while speaking to newsmen at the event disclosed that the reason for the meeting is that the good people of Omuma has considered it important and imperative to give full support and solidarity to their son who happens to be the governor of Imo State, stating that Governor Uzodinma has done exceedingly well in his first tenure and deserve to go for the second tenure and hence the endorsement by his people of Omuma Community.
He went further to disclose that Governor Uzodinma has virtually touched all sectors of the Imo Economy be it Health, Education, Road Construction, Agriculture, Tourism, Trade and Investment, Security, Employment etc. He hinted that all the 27 Local Government of the state has benefited from the 3R mantra vision of the State Government.
Also, speaking to the journalist at the event, a prominent woman in the area and the chairperson of Umuada Omuma Central Union Mrs. Kate Igwe stated that Governor Hope Uzodinma is a God gift to Imo People.
She hinted that Governor Uzodinma has done in four years what other Governors could not do for eight years. She enumerated some of the governors achievements which include 35km dual carriage way Orlu/Owerri Road, 55km Owerri/Okigwe single carriage way, 46km Owerri/Mbaise/Umuahia single carriage way, upgrading of Federal Medical Center Owerri to Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri (FUTHO) 4 sets of Imo Trained grandaunts medical professionals (Doctors) from Imo State University Education, dredging of Orashi River for Imo free trade zone at Oguta, reconstruction of Sam Mbakwe Airport Road, rehabilitation of run way lights at Imo Cargo Airport for night landing, recovery of K. O Mbadiwe University at Ogboko, rehabilitation of Imo State Polytechnic Omuma, rehabilitation of junctions and decongestion of traffic system at Owerri metropolis, double promotion of civil servants and others too numerous to mention.
According to Mrs. Kate Igwe, other Governors achievements are the completion of MCC Road, Muhammadu Buhari way, Orlu to Akokwa road which is ongoing, Evan Enwerem way which is now completed, reviving Adapalm, reconstruction of Imo State House of Assembly, reviving of Umuguma General Hospital etc. Mrs. Kate Igwe stated that Umuada Omuma will continue give Governor Hope Uzodinma the necessary support he needed now till when the election will be conducted in November 2023.
