Those who were familiar with Nigeria’s football in the late 80’s and the 90’s this week celebrated with arguably Nigeria’s best coach, Clemens Westerhof.
With Nations Cup bronze, silver and gold; and with our first ever World Cup finals appearance and FIFA World rating as number 5 best entertaining team in the world, Clemens Westerhof remains the best coach Nigeria ever had.
His dedication, discovery and assemblage of the team particularly the infusion of Nigerian based players we agree are the best Eagles. Interestingly, this was just for a period of five years. The Champagne was at several corners popped with celebration for the man fondly called “Dutchgerian” for his love for our country.
He turned 83 on Thursday. Many of his fans and players during the good days prayed for God to grant him many more years in good health. CONGRATULATIONS to the amiable coach.
