The Lagos/Oduduwa Students Association of Nigeria, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri Chapter has donated toiletries, food items and drinks to the Red Cross Motherless Babies Home, Owerri.
Presenting the items which he referred to as Christmas gift, the President of the
Association, Mr. Vincent Obi of the of the Department of Business Education pointed out that the members of the association deemed it necessary to identify with the less privilege in the society adding that the gesture was to put smile on the faces of the children this festive period.
Mr. Obi noted that they came to chat, encourage and let them know they are not different from others adding that they have parents as well as to make them know that they can still be useful in the world.
He revealed that one can locate God at hospitals, motherless babies homes and prisons and appealed to well-to-do individuals, philanthropists and the public to always identify with the less privileged among us.
Receiving the items, the Matron of the home, Lady Cecilia Okere appreciated the students kind gesture expressing surprise that students care more than parents in recent times revealing that they are giving example of how they will rule the country in future.
Lady Okere thanked them for having charitable and humanitarian mind and prayed God to reward them.
