As the 2022 Non League season draws near particularly in Imo state, one of the upcoming clubs, KC Akali Int’l FC, Owerri hopes to intensify their preparations.
According to reports gathered by Trumpeta sports desk, the youthful side which is handled by Coach Alex Ndulaka “1 on 1” is expected to take on First Mahi FC also of Owerri this Saturday in a friendly tie at the Government Secondary School field on Okigwe road, Owerri by 4pm.
President and CEO of the club Mr Kelechi Madu also disclosed that the team is considering taking part in this seasons Imo State FA League and FA Cup (Aiteo Cup) competitions to help keep the players in good shape ahead of their perceived travel to Europe for professional stints.
“Yes my brother, as you already know the team is trying to gel together and the coach has been working on that with intensive trainings and matches.
“We are hoping to have more matches and First Mahi FC is on minds as we hope to use the friendly to continue to toughen the boys.
“We also which to take part in the state league and FA cup competitions when it comes up as it would help us improve the players.
“Most importantly, some of the players would soon be travelling abroad for trials and we intend to use the friendlier and competitions to keep them and improve their fitness and performance.
