Constituency Representation: Anukam Doles Out Fund For Re-connection of Owerri Communities in Blackout State

Poised to ensuring an effective representation of his constituents, the Member representing Owerri Municipal State Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Anukam has doled out funds for the repair of electricity transformers to some of the communities in blackout state.

The communities for a long period of time had remained in total blackout, courtesy of damaged electricity transformers.

Information obtained by Trumpeta Newspaper revealed that among the beneficiaries were the inhabitants of
Tetlow at Oha Owere Hall, and the School Road by Njiribeako street, all in Owerri Municipal LGA.

Touched by their ordeal, Hon Anukam yesterday February 14th and 11th, 2022, respectively, engaged the services of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC.

Aside providing all the funds required to fix the light, he charged them on quality and speedy job within days.

It was learnt that the occupants of Odagu/Tetlow and some parts of School road in Umuororonjo in Ikenegbu Ward 1, heaved a sigh of relief on that singular gesture.

Reason for their satisfaction was as a result of the suffering and economic stagnation caused by the continued power outage, which the State Lawmaker came to rectify.

According to Hon. Anukam, his quest for restoring light to the affected communities in his Constituency was further aimed at giving them hope, and making sure they enjoy the necessary democracy dividends like other communities.

He recalled that his attention was drawn by the youths of the area, and in response, he swiftly engaged the EEDC officers.

Anukam assured them that even though he has maintained in fulfilling his campaign promises, as could be seen with his numerous projects scattered in all the nook and crannies of Owerri Municipal, he won’t be tired or complain in giving them better life.

The Minority Whip of the Imo Assembly reiterated that he is in the House of Assembly by the collective mandate of Owerri Municipal people, hence said, he owe them his loyalty, dedication and effective representation.

Anukam also enjoined them to shun hooliganism, and any acts capable of brewing state of unrest.

He therefore charged the youths and inhabitants of the area to always guard government property and any project sited in their locality jealously, and never give room for vandalism.

Responding, the elated youths thanked Hon Solomon Anukam for the good gesture and for always being available to entertain issues concerning his people.

To that end, they reassured him of their unflinching support whenever the time comes, adding that he has changed the old narrative associated with House of Assembly representation in the area, and as such, have endeared himself to the heart of many.
