Imo to Celebrate Yuletide in Pomp-Offor

 

As Christmas approaches and people look forth to the coming home of their kiths and kin, the Imo state government said measures are in place to ensure adequate protection of lives and property during the yuletide season.

 

Briefing news men recently in his office, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Chinedu Offor disclosed that several strategies have been adopted by government to guarantee safety of lives and property as well as make the yuletide celebration in Imo State an eventful one.

 

According to the Commissioner, the State has lined up a number of activities ranging from carnival, dances, musical shows and all kinds of fun and entertainment events and urged all to be in Imo to enjoy her rich culture and traditional hospitality.

 

Mr. Offor used the opportunity to speak on the outcome of the recent trip by the Imo state Governor to the United Kingdom. He stated that Governor Okorocha visited The United kingdom to solicit economic collaboration with Imo. He also disclosed that the Governor met with a number of Imo indigenes resident in the UK as well as attended the convention of the All Peoples’ Grand Alliance (APGA) in the UK.

 

The spokesperson of the State said the trip to the United Kingdom afforded Imo State an opportunity of building bridges for investment in the State. He recalled that the present administration, led by Owelle Rochas Okorochas established the Imo Diaspora Village as part of efforts to lure Imo indigenes in Diaspora to invest in the State. He explained that the Diaspora Village comfortable accommodation for those coming into the State from abroad.
