As Union Members Top Stakeholders Meeting In Owerri.
Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Imo State chapter have unanimously passed vote of conference on the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The Union members who turned out enmass during the Stakeholders meeting organized by the State Government at the Council of Traditional Rulers Secretariat, Owerri were chanting solidarity songs as well as displaying placards written different headings in support of the Governor Uzodimma.
Speaking to newsmen, the Chairman of the NURTW Imo State chapter, Comrade Ifechi Okorie(One man squad)stated that they have no option than to seize the opportunity to show appreciation and celebrate the Governor for his massive road construction in Imo State.
Comrade Okorie remarked that NURTW are the major beneficiaries of Governor Uzodimma’s good governance adding that the union will continue to support him. He disclosed that he had earlier organized seminars for the union members maintaining that days have gone when touts were trying to paint black the name of the union.
The NURTW boss informed that there is currently orderliness in their transport business as there is no longer indiscriminate vehicular parking in the State capital.
Lending his voice, the NURTW branch Chairman, Araugo park, Comrade Alvan Opara popularly called “Arrow” of God. reiterated that Governor Uzodimma means well for Imo people.
Comrade Opara eulogized the Governor over his on going urban renewal project. “Look at Warehouse and Fire Service junctions. The traffic lights are working effectively. No more traffic gridlock in Owerri. We are happy with Governor, and we will continue to support him. This is demonstration of love and solidarity to our amiable Governor. So, I am urging Imo people to support the Governor. Let me also seize this opportunity to commend our union Chairman, Comrade Ifechi Okorie for his untiring efforts towards repositioning NURTW Imo State chapter. May the Almighty God continue to bless him”, Comrade prayed.
