Ex Commissioner Joins Beneficiaries Of FG’S Program For Unemployed Youths

A two time Commissioner in Imo and formerly in charge for Health in Imo State under Governor Rochas Okorocha, Barr Mrs Ngozi Njoku during the week, participated in the ongoing National Social Investment Program (N-SIP) which is a Federal Government program for Unemployed youths in Imo State.
Trumpeta observed that during the program, the former Commissioner Mrs Njoku, was a beneficiary benefited who received a letter of engagement and Tablet for the Independent Monitor in the state.
Speaking during the program, the representative of the Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq ,Chief Rapal Obi Director of Planning Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs said that the program is for Unemployed youths of Imo State , stating that anybody who can afford what he or she can eat should not participate in the program to enable unemployed youths get the job to enable them earn a living.
He added that most of the beneficiaries are poor youths who needed a helping hand in other to sustain their lives and that of their families with the little thirty thousand naira that will be given to them monthly by the federal government.
Chief Obi noted also that the program is only for one year , which according to him is a Federal Government program design to lift youths out of poverty within the one year.
The presence of the former commissioner caused a stir and attracted eyes of participants including journalists at the program.
Though the organizers didn’t comment on the background of participants but newsmen were troubled how someone who was Commissioner for women affairs in 2007 during the Ikedi Ohakim and also served the Rochas Okorocha government as Commissioner for Health and Director General of Imo Foundation few years ago would join to earn a federal government poverty alleviation program made to pay unemployed youths 30,000 monthly.
When confronted, Mrs Njoku told newsmen that her name was among those listed for the program.
